Studi lapangan mengenai penggilingan padi dan kadar vitamin B1 dalam beras dan limbah penggilingan telah dilakukan di tiga kabupaten di Jawa Barat.</p><p>Kadar rata-rata vitamin B1 dalam beras giling dari ketiga daerah penelitian antara 0,07-0,08 mg%. Kadar vitamin B1 dalam beras tumbuk tidak berbeda dengan kadar dalam beras giling. Pada umumnya, beras yang dijual di pasar di daerah penelitian tidak selalu beras produksi setempat.</p><p>Kadar vitamin B1 dalam sekam sama dengan dalam beras giling, sedangkan dalam bekatul sekitar 2-3 kali kadar dalam beras.
