Dalam makalah ini dilaporkan hasil percobaan pembuatan formula makanan dengan bahan baku utama terdiri dari jenis sayuran yang umum dikonsumsi di Indonesia, kaya akan karotin, dan harganya relatif murah (wortel, buncis, bayam dan daun melinjo). Masing-masing sayuran ini diolah menjadi bentuk pasta, sari sayur, agar, dan biskuit. Empat (pasta wortel, pasta buncis, pasta wortel sari buncis dan sari wortel) diantara tujuh produk yang dicobakan disukai para panelis. Setelah disimpan lima belas hari, semua produk ini sama-sama menunjukkan penurunan kadar karotin sampai 50%.
