Abstract

ABSTRAK

Latarbelakang: Perhitungan energy basal merupakan langkah utama untuk estimasi kebutuhan energy pada individu. Untuk populasi ada beberapa rumus untuk mengestimasi energy basal yang didasarkan pada hasil pengukuran penelitian  dilapangan yang tersedia seperti hasil pengukuran berat badan. Makalah ini menyajikan data untuk membandingkan rumus perhitungan antara Schofield dan Oxford dengan menggunakan data berat badan dari Riskesdas 2007. Metode: Sebanyak 41087 Lansia terdiri dari 20671 Lansia laki-laki dan 20416 Lansia perempuan didikutkan dalam analisis data ini dengan status gizi normal (IMT 18,5 – 25,0 kg/m2). Data yang dianalisis meliputi umur, gender, berat badan, tinggi badan, dan tingkat aktifitas fisik. Dipilih 2 rumus untuk menghitung energy basal yaitu Schofield yang direkomendasikan FAO/ WHO/UNU dan rumus Oxford yang digunakan untuk mengestimasi energy basal di Indonesia. Hasil: Rata-rata energi basal Lansia laki-laki berdasarkan perhitungan Schofield adalah 1217 ± 76,9 Kkal dan 1283 ± 108,6 Kkal berdasarkan rumus Oxford , sedangkan energi basal Lansia perempuan menurut Schofield adalah 1090 ± 55,5 Kkal dan 1101 ± 74,3 Kkal menurut rumus Oxford. Rata-rata “energy expenditure” Lansia Laki-laki berdasarkan rumus Schofield 1887 ± 119 Kkal dan 1989 ± 168 Kkal menurut rumus Oxford, sedangkan “energy Expenditure” Lansia perempuan menurut rumus Schofield adalah 1581 ± 81 Kkal dan 1598 ± 108 Kkal menurut rumus Oxford. Kesimpulan: Rata-rata nergi basal dan “energy expenditure” berdasarkan rumus Oxford lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan menggunakan rumus Schofield.

ABSTRACT

Backgrounds: The determination of basal energy rate (BMR) is the primary step for estimating the energy requirement of an individual. For the population there is some equation to estimate basal energy rate based on the measurement obtain in the foeld such as body weight. Thus the publication was to compare between Schofield and oxford equation using the weight data of Riskesdas 2007. Method: A total of 41087 elderly people (20671 men and 20416 women) were including in this analysis with normal nutritional status (BMI 18.5 – 25.0 kg/m2). Data analysis were age, gender, body weight, height, and physical activities. Two equation were chosen for estimating BMR, the schofield equation that is recommended by FAO/WHO/UNU and Oxford equation that used in estimating BMR in Indonesia. Results: The average of basal metabolic rate of male elderly according to Schofield equation was 1217 ± 76.9 Kcal and Oxford equation was 1283 ± 108.6 Kcal, while basal metabolic rate of women elderly was 1090 ± 55.5 Kcal and Oxford was 1101 ±74.3 Kcal. The average of energy expenditure of male elderly according to Schofield equation was 1887 ± 119 Kcal and Oxford equation was 1283 ± 108.6 Kcal, while energy expenditure of women elderly was 1581 ± 81 Kcal and Oxford was 1598 ± 108 Kcal. Conclusion: The average of basal metabolic rate and energy expenditure among elderly people based on Oxford equation were higher compare to Schofield equation.
